Remove a green background from a video clip

Filmed yourself or a product in front of a green or blue screen? Explaindio can remove that background, so only the person or product shows in your scene.

1. In a scene, click + Add, then Video and add your clip.
2. In the video's panel, check Remove a green background.
3. Leave the color on Auto. Explaindio finds the screen's color in your clip.
4. Wait for "Removing the background…". It takes a moment, and it happens only once for each clip.
5. When you see ✓ Background removed, you're done.

If some of the screen is left: pick Green, Blue or your own color, move How much to remove to the right, and click Apply these settings.

If edges of the person disappear: move How much to remove to the left. Edge softness smooths hard edges around hair.

Green clothes, plants or props can disappear too, because Auto removes anything close to the screen's color. Avoid them, or pick the screen's color yourself for more control.

Removing the background doesn't change the clip's sound or length.

If it doesn't work: use a clip with an even, well-lit screen and no shadows on it, then try again.
